Wallace Farm is pleased to announce an exciting development. While the firm will be maintaining its operations at its current Huntersville location, Wallace Farm has been seeking a new site where it can conduct Large, Type III composting operations. This move will provide Wallace Farm the opportunity to meet anticipated future demands for the green recycling services they provide, and has been in planning stages for some time. The move will be to another county in North Carolina.
Wallace Farm plans to relocate its Large, Type III composting operations within 5 years of receiving a renewal of their current permit for their present Mecklenburg County site. At the end of this time period, the firm plans to continue indefinitely providing composting services as a state-approved Type I facility at its present Huntersville site, along with continuing the soil, mulch, animal, hay and other operations that have been part of the family farm there for many decades.
Meeting customers' future needs is a paramount consideration in seeking new, additional property and capacity. As always, Wallace Farm is fully engaged in meeting the needs of its customers and protecting the environment through its services.
The great State of North Carolina has many prudent and mandated public policies to enhance and protect the lives of its citizens. General Statute 130A-309.04 calls for reducing the public's use of, and reliance upon, landfills. Composting is a key, preferred method for achieving this goal. With its green operations, Wallace Farm enhances and promotes this critically important goal for all citizens of North Carolina.
The Wallace family is tremendously excited about this vision God has placed before them. The firm eagerly anticipates beginning construction of a new facility, which will be a continuation of their well-run, highly technical and proficient compost operations that implement the highest composting standards and processes. Wallace Farm will remain true to its farm heritage of more than 100 years, protecting the land for future generations, and remains committed to a green environment.
